New Addition to the Frost Family!!

GOT YA!! No the addition is not another **LIVE** addition, but that of a couch. We went to Washburn's not really wanting to buy anything. I wanted to look around, I wanted to see what they had. I told Sam, who like I said is cheap, so I told him that I would call 911 when he seen the prices. I knew that heart failure was a sure thing when he really got to looking. So we get to Washburn's and before we go in, I warn my two angels..WE DON'T touch anything!!! That is warning number one, and I know that the first thing on Averrie's mind when we walk in is "TOUCH". I look around, since I already knew what I wanted, and I couldn't find it. It was something that they would have to order. OK, that is fine!! Let me see if I can find something that is close to it that won't send Sam into a spiral of words!! LOL!! Well, I FOUND IT..a sectional that is amazing. I then begin the whole explaining why I need this sectional. Guess what? He fell for it. They are bringing my new leather sectional out around 4:30 today. I can't wait. We went ahead and got the ottoman to go with it, and I seen the tables that I am going back to get!! I was so pleased that I found something that I actually L.O.V.E.D!!! Something that I could see in my living room, that would fit the log cabin look that I wanted. I am just so pleased, since this is the first ever set of NEW couches that I have had. We wanted to make sure that our house was done and paid for before we did anything in the **Wants** department. We bought used the first time and paid so little for them. I am sending them to my little brother since they can't get new couches. They to will have to do as we have through these years and take their time getting things. Hope you guys have a GREAT weekend, remember it is Friday!!!!

I am wanting spring and summer to get here fast. I need to get outside and not freeze to death. I just hope we don't have snow in March like last year. I am tired of cold weather and the girls are ready to stretch their feet.

Well I called Washburn's today and got my new futon ordered!!! YEA!!! I can't wait to see it in the room. I am sure it will be a perfect addition to the office/guest room. Deciding what I wanted was the hard part, and when I found this one I knew it was the lucky futon. The one that gets to endure the DAMAGE that four little hands can cause. HA HA. Aleeyah said "mom, are you sure that color is ok?".."Well yea, why wouldn't it be?" I asked her

"Well, mom you can't see where I sign my name!!" I tell you what that is the whole reason that I got CHOCOLATE COLOR!!

I do fear getting new couches though. I know that I will be terrified that they are going to do something to them. I have picked out leather and the darkest color I can find. I NEED DURABLE, something that two children can not destroy in a heart beat!!
Sam is trying to talk me out of the whole "new couch" thing till they are 16 or older, but I don't think that will work. By that time we will be sitting in the floor. My couches are in wonderful shape, but remember Stacy has "I NEED a change" days and this is on my list..

Of course I will be prepared for all that they decide to do to the new couches.

This is what I have picked out..Hopefully it does not break the bank to get them! Remember I live with Sam, and he hates to spend money!!

I am not sure what has me today. I have got a few things done today and feel pretty good about them. Of course Aleeyah's closet is yelling AGAIN that it needs to be cleaned out. The toy room is not looking so hot either. How many toys can two children have? The minute that I clean it out they will want the one that I took to PCDC. Never fails!!
I did finish touching up the doors and facings with bright white paint. Sam should be proud that part is done. The bathroom is this weekend, and I am not sure if I am up to it. I have picked a lighter color than the guest/room, if I can find something to decorate it in. You know if I would have done this when we built this house I would not be doing it right now. WAIT, that is a total fib, I would have a moment and decide that I needed something different.

At least Averrie seems to be pulling through her little problem. I can only hope that sleep is something that I get to enjoy tonight. Three nights without sleep can make for a really rude person ;-)

Well at least Friday is around the corner, and the weekend will be here. Sam has to work as always but at least I can start that bathroom. One less eye sore to look at in this house LOL LOL...

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!!!

Time!! (not a friend of mine)

So, I have not blogged in a while. I am not to good at it anyways, but decided today that I would just stop by to "blog" for a little bit.

I have been fighting Averrie's little tonsil problem AGAIN!! This time the doc actually add the words..EAR, THROAT and NOSE dr to the sentence. SCARY, I know. He told me that in the last four months he has seen Averrie three times with tonsillitis and twice with sinus infection. OK, OK I know that this has been the sickest child of all three of the girls, but surely it don't need to go that far. I guess we will have to play it by ear.

Well Sam got up Saturday morning and surprised me by telling me that he wanted to paint Averrie's bedroom and make it into a guest room. Since the girls don't sleep in their rooms anyways, I figured I would take him up on the offer and get myself an office/guest room. WHOOHOOO!!! That was until I started painting ha ha. Forgot how hard and tiring that stuff was. We got it done, and the color is amazing. It is called Ottertail and I love it.

I am re-doing the bathroom this weekend (if averrie is better) and getting on with this OCD moments that I am having. I have cleaned out closet 3 times in the last couple of months and the kitchen cabinets twice. Alicia continues to call me an over achiever LOL. I know I know...I have issues!!!! I just can't seem to stand clutter or dirt anymore. Who knows!! Of course the husband is all for the change and the girls, I think, are working against me! Alicia is due for a visit soon, and I can't wait. Have not seen her since October on my birthday. I am so ready!! Pray for the many people who are without power, and also the ones that are without jobs. To hear the story of the father who took his life and the lives of his whole family is gut wrenching. To think that he knew of nothing else to do but that. I often think, if he had known the Lord that I know, he would not have worried about it so much. That is the problem today, people are worried about their fancy cars and expensive homes. They forget that the Lord tells us that we are not to worry. He provides food for the birds of the air, are we not above the birds of the air. I think of this every time the job loss rate goes up. I think that someday I might have to be in that position and what would I do. I would lean on God and let him take care of things. So I ask each of you to pray for those without jobs, and that God will provide them a way to fix their situation.......

Remodel

So we decided to finish the house with a RE-MODEL!! When we built this home 7 years ago, we wanted hardwoods in the living room and dining room only. We went with carpet every where else!! So recently during one of my "I NEED A CHANGE" periods, I decide that i want hardwoods in the hall to. I want new carpet in the bedrooms and tile around my 6 jet tub in the master bath. It is time to finish this place, and I am already finding things that I want to change. So we go to the place in Oklahoma where we got our hard woods the first time, only to find out that they no longer carry it. Darn, what do we do now?? So we run to Ft. Smith hoping that Lowes can help us out!! Well they have it but you have to special order it. Well, ok I will now have to wait 2 weeks to get it in. By then I will be out of the mood to change anything. We did get the tile to the bathtub, and am pleased to announce that Sam finally agreed with me. I can't believe that when we first bought this hardwood, we paid 25.00 a box for them. When we got them yesterday we had to pay 65.00 a box. Well it don't take alot of math to figure out that it cost more that what we would have liked!!!!
**********
It doesn't seem like the cost of anything is going down. Oh yes gas is going down but the cost of everything else is the same. Or higher in some cases. We have stopped the look for a couch for the time being. Wanting to work on things in the house for a change. The new car hunt is out the window to. Sometimes there are things more important..and that is living in a finished house!!
***********
The next few month will be time consuming on me. I have a wedding to photograph, basketball teams to photograph and a house that I am remodeling. WHEW!!! How will I get it all done? The same way that I get everything else done, slow, easy and right.
I will take my time and loose my patience and mind. Will want to stop and then start it again later. I will fight with my husband and threaten to hurt someone the next time they run off with the hammer. In the end though, it will be done. There will be another chore waiting in its shadow.....

Another Monday

Ok, so far today things have been crazy!! Both girls have a head cold, go figure!! I have cleaned the whole house, and got my closet cleaned out. That was amazing, and 4 -30 gallon trash bags later it feels clean. I can get in it now, and the clothes are organized. Thank goodness. Now on to the girls closets!! We are going this wkend to get the new hardwoods, and tile for our bathroom and hallway. We are going to begin this remodeling of the house, and of course as all of our projects go will test our marriage as well...ha ha....I got all the outside windows cleaned and inside as well. I really feel like I have accomplished things today. I got all the laundry put away, and am beginning to wonder if I have the starting of OCD!! :-)
*******
Hopefully while in Ft. Smith we will find a couch and tables that I just can't live without! Of course after this wkend, I know they don't come cheap. As for those who know my husband, he is the cheapest person on EARTH!! If there is a way to do it cheaper he will. Drives me insane!!
Of course this is the problem with him, something he wants...no matter the cost...Something I want...to expensive!!
*******
Well the girls enjoyed their new years presents, and are having a blast playing with the dolls. We got them the ventriloquists dolls, Mortermer Snerd, Howdy Doody, Charlie and Lester. They are so cute. The girls line them up in their new Dora desk and teach them school. One day maybe they can figure out how to make them talk!
*******
Diet is going so good! Lost another 2 pounds for a total so far of 13 pounds. Man, if I would have known this before I wouldn't be where I am now. I go back to the doctor in January, and pray he likes the results. I am really getting the results that I have wanted for so long. Size 5-6 here I come!!!
*******
Well Averrie has officially taken the "call daddy by his first name" to far! We are in wal-mart and we are all three walking together. Sam goes to get something I forgot, and I see a girl that he knows. Averrie then realizes that her daddy is gone, and asks me "Mommy, where is SAM?" I look at the girl, who by this time has a strange look on her face as if to say "WHAT?" You see this is how rumors get started!! So I tell her "she has this problem with calling him by his first name"!!
Embarrassed me, tells Sam this has got to STOP, it makes it look horrible on me LOL!! We have resorted to calling each other mom and dad, hoping this will change what she is doing!

Kids!! What more can I say!!

I get up this morning and begin getting the girls dressed. We had decided to go to Ft. Smith to shop, and so I got them in their usual matching outfits, like I always do when we are going out of town. I had seen Averrie with my cell phone and knew that the key lock was on. So really I did not pay much attention to the fact that she had it.
So I get Aleeyah dressed and begin getting Averrie dressed. I get her onsie on, and then button the bottom. I then put her pants on, the whole time Averrie is crying "mom, my cell phone." I simply tell her that I will find where she put in it a min, but first she needed to get dressed. I finish dressing her and she just keeps on pulling at her pants and saying "my cell phone". Well I pick up the phone and call the cell phone and I had it on vibrate.....
Needless to say, Averrie began vibrating all around the living room ha ha ha ha ha she had put it in her pull up and I had put all her clothes over it...
Kids~~ You never know what they will do next.....

I learned today that a guy I went to school with and his wife lost their baby. I don't know what happened, but she was born today and passed away today. All I can think tonight is the feelings that are going through their minds. Knowing that they have to bury their child!! I have been there and tonight I know exactly what they are going through. The thoughts of why us, the thoughts of why her!! I am not sure what to say to them, but know that support is the best thing. To let them know that I am there. That is all you can do for someone who has buried a child. To know that you will never see their graduation, prom, children, wedding....etc....
You will always think of the day that they left, and wonder what they would be like today. I do it all the time. Thinking that Bethanie would be 9, what would she be like? Would she be good in school? Would she look like her daddy? Or me? No parent should have to bury their children. In a far world, we all believe that the children take care of their old parents, who leave before them. Sometimes that don't happen. Sometimes it does. When it don't we often wonder what went wrong, why it happened to these parents. God is great, and he knows what is best. For us and them. You don't know what could have happened later down the road!! Something serious for instance. We have to leave this in God's eternal plan. So tonight I pray for these two parents, the grandparents and the family. That the Lord may wrap his wonderful arms around them and hold them while they lay Ava down to sleep.
